Company
Since 2015, on the shop floor.
We started by building the hardware that reads the machine. The platform came from what we saw on those plants: the same numbers typed twice, and no one record of who did what.

The story
An engineering company that ended up building a platform.
We have built embedded, automation and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) systems since 2015, previously as Octavic Engineering . The work took us into pharmaceutical and food plants, into aerospace and maritime, and into hospitals.
The same thing happened on every plant. The counts lived in the programmable logic controller (PLC). The reasons for the stops lived on a whiteboard. The batch record lived in a binder. Somebody typed the same shift into three of them, and by Friday nobody could say which version was right.
The platform came out of that. We built what those plants kept asking for: one plant model, one record of who did what, and numbers the system works out instead of a person.
Today we build and run Phasis. We still take engineering work, because a plant sometimes needs a device or an integration that does not exist yet, and someone has to build it.
What we believe
Five rules the software enforces.
These are not values on a wall. Each one is a rule inside the platform, and the plant runs into it on the first day.
Two people, where it matters
A release, a deviation, a signed record. One person acts, a second approves. The system will not let one person do both.
The server computes
Nobody types a rate, a yield or an availability figure. The plant enters what happened. The numbers follow from it.
Nothing is deleted, it is withdrawn with a reason
A wrong entry is voided, not edited. The old value stays visible, with the name of who withdrew it and why.
Rates never lie
Overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) is built from counts and stops as they were recorded. If the number looks bad, the shift looked bad.
The plant is entered once
One plant model. Lines, machines, materials and people are set up once and every module reads the same thing.
See it on your own plant.
Thirty minutes with an engineer. We walk the modules you care about against your own lines and shifts.
