We started by building the hardware and software that connect industrial equipment. Phasis grew from what we learned in operating plants: critical information was available, but too often divided across systems and entered more than once.

Industrial engineering begins
We began by developing embedded systems, automation and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) solutions for factories. When an existing machine could not provide the required signal or connection, we designed the sensor, controller or gateway around it. That work took us into pharmaceutical and food plants, aerospace and maritime applications, and hospitals.

The company and its first MES deployments
We founded Octavic Engineering to deliver embedded systems, automation and Industrial IoT projects. In the same year, the people behind Phasis began deploying manufacturing execution systems (MES) and OEE systems on operating production lines. Over the following decade, that work covered pharmaceutical, food and beverage, wood, plastics and metalworking plants. Across them, the same problem kept appearing: production, downtime, quality and compliance information existed, but it was divided between controllers, whiteboards, binders and repeated manual entry.

Phasis becomes the platform
Phasis turns that experience into one manufacturing operations platform. It connects production, quality, maintenance, safety and workforce information so the teams running the plant can work from the same current facts. The technology matters because it reduces repeated administration, makes operational risks visible earlier and helps each shift run with fewer surprises.
We build industrial systems for factory floors, ships, satellite assembly cleanrooms and hospitals. Since 2015, that work has included putting MES and OEE systems into daily production use. In every environment, our responsibility is the same: deliver a system people can rely on under real operating conditions.
