Calibration

Prove every gauge measures correctly.

A thermometer says 72 °C. Is that true? Calibration is the check against a known reference, and this module holds it for every measuring instrument in the plant. A gauge is an instrument here. A pump is an asset in Maintenance. The two link, but they are not the same object.

Registering an instrument offers the next free tag in a fixed pattern, so nobody invents a number. A calibration records the reference values and the measured values, and the server computes the error and the pass or fail. The technician submits. QA (quality assurance) approves, returns or rejects, and the performer cannot approve their own work. Approval locks the record, generates the certificate from a template and rolls the due date. A failed calibration quarantines the gauge until QA releases it or scraps it. Due and overdue instruments flag themselves.

SPC (statistical process control) refuses a reading from a gauge that is out of calibration, so a drifting instrument cannot feed a control chart. Validation pulls the instrument mapping report from here as a controlled PDF instead of rebuilding the table by hand.
