Shift Handover
The outgoing shift tells the incoming shift what happened.
The outgoing shift tells the incoming shift what happened. The module does not file a fresh page each shift. It keeps an open item until somebody closes it, and it shows how many shifts that item has been open.
The outgoing supervisor opens the handover and finds everything still open already listed with its age. They update each item, raise new ones, close what the shift fixed, write a summary and submit. At submit the list locks and the open work across Production, Maintenance, Quality, SPC, Permit to Work, HSE and Tools is frozen onto the record. The incoming supervisor reads it, confirms each critical item one by one, then acknowledges. They cannot acknowledge before the critical items are confirmed, and the author cannot sign their own handover.
Handover items carry no owner and no due date, and that is deliberate. Work that needs a name and a date is raised in Maintenance, Quality or HSE, and the handover item links to it. A fourth to-do list is the last thing a plant needs.

What you get
- Nothing gets lost between shifts. The leaking valve is on the next handover by itself.
- "Open 6 shifts" is a sentence a manager can act on. A stack of separate notes never says it.
- The incoming supervisor cannot acknowledge until every critical item is confirmed, and the author cannot sign their own handover.
- Handover items deliberately have no owners and no due dates. Work that needs a name and a date is raised in Maintenance, Quality or HSE, and the item links to it.
- An unacknowledged handover warns the incoming shift. It does not block the shift from starting, because a crew at the line at six in the morning will walk around a locked door.
- Poor handover is a named factor in serious industrial accidents. The safety guidance asks for a written record, structure, critical items flagged, and confirmation by the person receiving them. This module does those four.
