E-signature
A record is edited after it was signed, and nobody notices.
A signature is a name written on a printed sheet. A record is edited after it was signed and nobody notices. Phasis asks the signer to re-enter their credentials at the moment of signing. It is a real password check against your login system. The name, the date, the time and the meaning sit on the exact state of the record. Edit it later and the old signature does not quietly carry over.
It is switched on per action, for the approvals your quality system needs. A food or automotive plant with no such obligation runs without it and never sees a signing dialog.
Who uses it
Quality manager
Names the actions that need a signature, and the meaning each signature carries.
Approver
Types their password at the moment they approve, against the company login.
Operator
Signs the step they performed, on the record as it stood at that moment.
Validation lead
Maps the signature into the validated system and the procedures around it.
IT administrator
Keeps the credential check in the company login system, where the password rules already live.
