Maintenance (CMMS)

Fix machines, plan services, prove uptime.

This is the maintenance department. Every machine sits in an asset register with its serial number, its maker and how critical it is. Work orders cover both sides of the work: the breakdown that happened an hour ago and the service that comes round every ninety days. It is the plant's CMMS (computerized maintenance management system).

Anyone can report an issue. The planner sets a priority, assigns a technician and dispatches the job. The technician works from a board of cards, not a form. A job can be held while a part is on its way. It closes with a repair note and a failure code from the ISO 14224 list, so two sites can compare the same fault. PM templates (preventive maintenance rules) create the due jobs every night, and the system computes MTBF (mean time between failures) and MTTR (mean time to repair) from the jobs that closed.

A machine entered once in the plant model turns up here as a draft asset, so nobody types the plant twice. Starting a job asks Permit to Work whether this one needs a permit before anyone opens the guard.
